I’m not much of an optimistic, more of a stoic really – things are the way they are type of attitude, but I do have some hope. For example, I hope to meet a consistent friend from the free world to communicate with.
I think life is less about the circumstances we find ourselves in, and more about the way in which we react to our circumstances. Lemonade from lemons, as such. With that in mind, I seek out programs or activities that I find intellectually stimulating, physically challenging, or emotionally rewarding.
To that end, I spent all of “21” in a web app development program that I found challenging and fascinating. Before that I was in a program where I cared for former racing greyhounds retired from the racing industry in Florida. The dogs I met were great companions, and I miss their company.
I also spent a lot of time doing legal work; writing short fiction, poetry, or song lyrics and reading classic literature. My favorite reads are “The Count of Monte Cristo” – Alexandre Dumas and “A Tale of Two Cities” – Charles Dickens. My favorite author is Ken Follett.
I exercise recreationally and plan to take that habit with me, but I am most excited about chasing a career in the tech industry and building new relationships.
I’m glad you chose to Meet-an-Inmate, because I hope to meet a free person. So, hit me up, we can make lemonade.
