Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile. I know there are plenty of options out there, so I truly appreciate you stopping by.
Some youthful decisions and poor choices led to my incarceration in 1998. Since then, I’ve had plenty of time to reflect, grow, and make the most of my circumstances. Rather than allowing my past to define me, I’ve worked hard to change, better understand myself, and use my experiences to positively impact others.
One of my biggest goals when I came to prison was education. I earned an Associate of Arts degree through Utah State University. Along the way, I learned more than academics, I learned about myself. I discovered that I’m capable of setting meaningful goals, following through, and accomplishing things I once wasn’t sure I could. That experience strengthened my confidence and gave me a clearer sense of what I have to offer.
I’ve also made it a priority to help younger men avoid some of the mistakes I made. I began mentoring young men and eventually developed an official mentoring class focused on the consequences of choosing instant gratification over patience, hard work, and investing in the future. Few things are more rewarding than seeing that “light bulb” moment when someone realizes today’s choices shape tomorrow’s life.
As for what I’m looking for, I’d love to meet someone genuine, open-minded, down-to-earth, and easy to laugh with. Life is serious enough, so I believe in enjoying the lighter moments and not taking ourselves too seriously.
If that sounds like the connection you’re looking for, I’d love to hear from you!
