I met a lifer that contracted the HIV virus from a prison fight. On its way to full blows aids the disease did a number on him. He shriveled up. His face looked like a skeletons. His family left him, even his old prison buddies treated him like a zombie. Yet he always smiled, laughed, and joked with everybody, though they kept a distance from him.
One day I asked him why. He said, "Youngsta, I know disease gonna kill me bit ima make 'everyday until then the best I eva had".
That touched me. If that lifer can find joy in the mist of his struggles, how cam I can't? That's when I began to make changes in my mind, body and soul so that I can keep a good spirit regardless of the troubles I face.
If you decide that you are just passing thru my page, stop at the next and drop him a few lines of encouragement because not everybody can be inspired by the lifer's story.
Thanks for visiting.
