A Moment of Awakening
There are a thousand people around me, yet I feel alone. I have been lost in a nightmare of my own making these last ten years and I am just beginning to wake.
Despite this environment I love to laugh, sometimes just at the absurdities of life. Though constrained – by more than bars – I will never give up. I find solace in the mind as I earn my M.B.A. (Master of Business Administration). I find purpose as I aid other incarcerated veterans and where I once only found an escape in writing, I now find a future with the publishing of several pieces. Whether it is a novel, short story, poetry or drama, there is an honesty, a beauty to words – written and read – that is often greater than those spoken.
I hope that you and I will be able to connect through letters that fly back and forth, filled with: laughter, hopes, realities and even rants. Who we are is made up of an infinite amount of pieces. This posting exposes some of mine. Perhaps you will share a few of yours.
Let's see how many pieces we can discover.
