Time. It is simultaneously each person’s friend, adversary, coach, encourager, partner, task master, and unrelenting creditor. Time is no respecter of persons, but the great equalizer of all. Each of us has but The Now: This Moment. We all have an instant, a flash in time – today – broken down into segments of hours, minutes, and seconds. What sets apart the difference makers and the greats from the mediocre and unknown is how we choose to spend and/or redeem the innumerable opportunities that time represents.
I have been “doing time” since February 2015, with still more years left. I have learned that no matter what life situation I am in, there are opportunities to learn, discover, experience joy, reasons to be grateful, and room to grow.
The saying, “You’re either growing together or you’re growing apart” recently caught my attention. That is what I want, to grow together and share life with a woman. Of course, we would be friends and confidants. But also, more mutual encouragers, challengers, laughing at all the hilarity all around us and working together as a team.
I certainly don’t have life figured out. If I did, I wouldn’t be in a jam like this. Of course, I’m not just laid back, complacent, and tamed: waiting to be released so that “one day” I can start living. No, even here, I am learning to live again, educating myself, and becoming a better man.
If you are a good woman, ready to really live and willing to grow. If you want to make the best out of life, irrespective of past mistakes or present pressures, if you want to make the moments ahead more meaningful than every moment behind. If you are wholly disinterested in hopelessness and practice persistent hope by getting right back up after every fall. If you would like to do life with a man committed to his own personal growth and achievements, who is also willing to give you the invaluable commodities of his time and personal attention.
